Production Group Leader
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager
The purpose of this position is to ensure that production deadlines are met within the department under charge in order to support company wide On-Time-Fill-rate for customer orders to reach goal of +90%. This job is responsible for scheduling and completing production orders utilizing production work centers (teams), while continuously improving production processes, eliminate waste, and identifying bottlenecks that impact daily production, outgoing shipments, and all other activities that occur on a daily basis within operations of the production center. Furthermore, ensuring production goals are met efficiently utilizing available resources and promptly communicating activities that affect production to managers, peers, and subordinates on a daily basis.
• Job Orders: Creating, releasing, and completing production job orders with all needed documentation- +50 transactions per day
• Daily labor entry: Entering the daily labor charged to production job orders on a daily basis. 25-30 transactions per day
• Reporting: Advising production manager and/or sales of current stock levels and/or production job order status either through formal or ad hoc reporting – once per day
• BOMs: Verify Accuracy for JOBOM and Standard BOM. Review of JOBOMs per order for accuracy, making appropriate changes as needed as well as identifying material shortages that may impact production – +50 per day
• Routings: Verify Accuracy for Job Order/JODRTG and Standard Routings/RTG . Review of JODRTG s per order for accuracy, making appropriate changes as needed as well as identifying material shortages that may impact production – +50 per day
• Employee training- Facilitating training for new hires to the production assembly group, this includes accurate daily labor recording, and reviews of job orders, production drawings, etc.
• Customer Support: Provided at the request of employee supervisor and engineering to support collection of documentation for review of specific customer orders.
• Employee Payroll: Review of employee hours at the request of HR/Payroll for the purposes of ensuring accuracy.
• Inventory: Reviewing job orders at creation and during production build for accuracy. Verifying proper materials are issued, and allocated to production job orders.
Engineering Change Notice (ECN): Provide recommendations and information to the engineering department for products designed for manufacture for the purpose of ensuring product quality and maintaining manufacturing standards.
Metrics:
• On Time Fill Rate (OTFR): Ensuring production deadlines are met for departments under charge in order to support company goal of +90% delivery of customer and build to stock orders.
• Direct responsibility for employees under charge, approximately 20-40 employees
Associates Degree or an equivalent work experience
Two to four years of supervisory experience in a production or warehousing environment
Ability to work in metric and English units of measure
